Manufacturing Production Planner -  Austin, TX

Carr Lane Manufacturing Co. has an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Production Planner to work at a nationally recognized manufacturer located in Austin, Texas.

Manufacturing Production Planner is an active contributor to the execution and coordination of materials, manpower and machines to achieve production's plan.  Works with others to ensure that production schedules are met.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

Daily review of ERP Planning System output (Workbenches), new customer orders and open jobs.

  • Creating and maintaining a schedule for production, verification that BOM and routing is correct and setting priorities.
  • Working and communicating with Team Leader(s), Management and Executive level employees
  • Monitoring jobs as they flow through the manufacturing process
  • Coordinate job completion dates with Team Leaders, including verification of the customer order due date and updates in the ERP System and follow-up with shipping department on prioritized orders
  • Good time management skills
  • Must work well with others
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time, routinely eight (8) hours
  • Be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Be flexible in regard to work responsibilities
  • Background Screening will be processed. Must be able to pass random Drug Screening at any time.



  • Experience using ERP or MRP systems with strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing and understanding of grinders, lathes, mills, CNC WC, CNC lathes and CNC mills
  • Knowledge of metal components, including the use of calipers and drawings


  • Technical degree in area of specialty or 2 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Must be capable of reading, writing, speaking and understand English
  • Bilingual business experience in an English-Spanish environment
